The ten print-exclusive parodies from the
Movies in Fifteen Minutes (book), in the order they appear:
Notes
- The order is actually the chronological order in which the movies were released, starting with Jurassic Park in 1993 and the Lord of the Rings trilogy finishing in 2003.
- "Independence Day" and "Spider-Man" are both written in slightly different formats; the former is the third parody in the book, and the latter is the third from the end.
- Properly speaking, the title of the Harry Potter parody is "Harry Potter and the
Philosopher's Sorcerer's Stone."
- There are a number of jokes recurring throughout the book, such as the Tiny White Mice.
- The most frequent criticism I got in bad reviews was that the parodies were too long, which is true, but I wanted people to feel like they were getting their money's worth, particularly since I was asking them to pay for something they had previously gotten for free. The book actually clocks in at 403 pages, if I recall correctly. I also had no time to put the manuscript in a drawer and let it sleep for a little while, as people always advise writers so they can gain some perspective, since I had already missed three or four deadlines due to a kind of panicked perfectionism. This was my fault, obviously, and the one regret I have about the entire enterprise.
